How to sort the chaos in your head

Learn how to sort the chaos in your head and find your clear system to manage your life. I am a person who needs to write things down to get it out of the head and give it some thought. Journals, notebooks, calendars and loose sheets of paper with information, ideas, todo lists and sketches all around the house. Do you feel the same?
As good as it feels to get it out and on paper, it becomes a real burden because it is neither organized nor is it possible to go back to it and make something out of it. Ideas are forgotten while the brain is producing new ones. There is no focus and you feel lost.
How to organize this mess?
There is always a digital and an analog part to lighten your load.
Digital Lists
Things, places, facts are best kept in digital master lists. Create a google sheet document for the different areas in your life . Most of the time these pieces contain additional information such as links, images or longer text. Possible lists could be: (Vacation, House, Work, Family Topics)
- House (things to fix, items you would like to add, possible new houses, contractors, costs)
- Vacation (destinations, different categories, bucket list, hotel recommendations, restaurants)
- Family (activities, restaurants, gifts )
- …
Writing down all this information in an always accessible place like the internet will lighten your load and help you directly start when needed. It saves so much time and brain work.
If you share these lists with your partner, you can be even more efficient and share the load of organizing your life together.

Analog Lists
From our experience running todo lists are always easier to handle when they are analog. They are more flexible and writing them with your hand gives them more urgency. These lists are visible around the house/work place with a satisfaction guarantee to check off tasks when they are done.
Another part that stays analog is writing down feelings, affirmations, journal entries or ideas. We love to keep journals and notebooks and they should have a treasured place in our life. But sometimes this section needs a clean up. Therefore we are working to created the “Idea Vault” a place/workbook where you can collect the most promising and pursuable ideas to come back to later.
To sort the chaos in your head the analog and digital world need to help together. It is also something you can’t change immediately, you have to build it up. It will take some time to gather all the important information, but when you dedicate a few minutes a day to building your lists, your future self will thank you for it! Go rock the world girl!
